Werner only moved to Leipzig last summer in an £8million move from Stuttgart but his performances in the Bundesliga this season have seen him linked with a move when the transfer window reopens.
His agent, Karlheinz Forster, told Bild that the Germany Under-21 international is attracting interest from England.
"There is general interest from Premier League clubs," he said. "The English are everywhere in the Bundesliga -- they scout and track players intensively -- and Timo has made himself even more interesting with his performances and goals for Leipzig."
The forward has managed 14 goals in 23 Bundesliga outings so far this season, making him the fourth-highest scorer in Germany's top flight, and he will cost a hefty fee at the end of the season as Leipzig will be eager to make a substantial profit if they are forced into a sale.
Werner is under contract at Leipzig until 2020 so the German side are under no pressure to sell.
