Bayern booked their place in the second round, overcoming a potential banana skin, when defeating Chemnitzer 5-0, but it was not as easy as the scoreline suggests.
Bayern were just one goal up at the break thanks to a strike from Robert Lewandowski, but floodgates opened after the interval as the Poland striker grabbed his second to add to further goals from Kingsley Coman, Franck Ribery and Mats Hummels.
Ancelotti was delighted with the way his side stuck at it as Chemnitzer dug in to make life difficult, and is happy to go through.
"I have seen a very good game from my team - we played well, with the right spirit and the right attitude," he said.
"In the first half, the opponent made it difficult for us, because they were very good in defence. In the second half, we have created more opportunities from which we scored the goals."
