Lewandowski urged to focus on football
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has urged Robert Lewandowski to keep his thoughts on the club’s transfer policy to himself.
Lewandowski said he felt the Bavarians needed to recruit more senior players after they were beaten 2-0 by Borussia Dortmund in the Super Cup last month.
However, Salihamidzic has told Kicker that the Poland striker should just focus on doing what he does best and leave management to look after the club.
“He does not have to worry about my job or the job of (CEO) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge or (president) Uli Hoeness – and certainly not in public,” he said.
“He does not have to – I think he understood that. If we do not do that (invest in young players), it will be difficult for Bayern, we cannot spend hundreds of millions every summer.

He added: “That’s what we talk about again and again with coach Niko Kovac, and although we aim to win the championship and once again the Champions League, we need to invest in these young players on a regular basis.”
