Coutinho backed to shine at Bayern
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen wants Philippe Coutinho to enjoy himself at Bayern Munich and prove just how good he is.
Coutinho’s move to Barcelona has not exactly gone to plan and the Brazil international now finds himself on a season-long loan with the Bavarians.
The 27-year-old scored 13 goals from 52 La Liga appearances but became a peripheral figure at times last term before being shipped off to the Allianz Arena.
There was talk of former club Liverpool taking him back to Anfield but that move failed to materialise and he will now ply his trade in Germany’s top division.
Ter Stegen is a big fan of his Barca team-mate and expects him to shine in his new surroundings.

“I just hope he has fun,” he said. “He is not only a fantastic footballer but he’s an even better person.
“It was not always easy for him with Barcelona, so I hope he can enjoy football again at Bayern and I hope he feels comfortable.
“There’s not much to say about his quality because he is an absolute asset to the Bundesliga.”
Coutinho looked set to take the Spanish game by storm after his stellar displays for the Anfield club, scoring 54 goals from 201 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
The South American still has time in his career to turn things around and a stint in the German top flight might be all that is needed for the ex-Inter Milan man to rediscover his best form.
