Sule earns VVD praise

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule has the ability to become one of the top centre-backs in the game, according to Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.

Sule has enjoyed an impressive rise in the game and, at 24, he’s a regular starter in the Bayern backline for manager Niko Kovac.

The youngster has even started to establish himself in the German national side and featured in their recent outings against both the Netherlands and Northern Ireland.

Liverpool star Van Dijk, who got to see Sule up close during the Netherlands’ recent Euro 2020 qualifier, feels the Bayern defender has all the attributes to become one of the best in the business.

“I’ve been watching Sule’s development for a long time,” Van Dijk said.

“I’ve played against him often, he is a very talented defender. Sule has a great future ahead of him. He plays for a big club and is already a cornerstone there.”

Sule will be back in Bundesliga action on Saturday when Bayern Munich make the trip to RB Leipzig.

It’s Leipzig who are the surprise early frontrunners in the German top flight after winning their first three games, while Bayern have won two and draw one.
