The 43-year-old former defender spent six years playing for Gladbach before moving into a behind-the-scenes role after retiring from football.
Eberl has done an incredible job with Die Fohlen and Bayern Munich were keen to bring him in to fill their vacant sports director’s role.
It is understood that Gladbach had given Eberl a deadline of Sunday’s home match against Bayern to make his decision and he has opted to remain.
Eberl said: “There is nothing else to say at the moment other than I will be sports director at Gladbach in the summer.
“I can also omit the ‘at the moment’ part because there has been no approach.
“I always said that there is no offer. I have always said that I have a contract and feel great at this club.
“Further more, I do not need an ultimatum. I talked to (Gladbach’s vice president) Rainer Bonhof about it and we are all very clear.”
