Hoffenheim snap up Seagull on loan

Jurgen Locadia has joined Hoffenheim on loan.

Hoffenheim have completed the signing of Jurgen Locadia on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Brighton.

The Seagulls signed Locadia from PSV Eindhoven 19 months ago for a fee of £15million, but the move has not worked out and a fresh start in the Bundesliga has been offered.

PSV were keen to take him back but Hoffenheim have won the day after paying an undisclosed fee to take him on loan. It remains to be seen whether there is the option to buy him on a permanent basis at the end of the term.

Albion head coach Graham Potter said: “Since I arrived, Jurgen’s trained really well and been great to work with, but I also appreciate it’s been a frustrating time for him ever since he signed for the club for a number of reasons.

“He wants to play week in, week out and this move presents a real opportunity for him to go and get some games and goals in a top European league.”
