Johannsson unhappy at Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen striker Aron Johannsson has admitted he is unhappy with life at the club after falling down the pecking order.

The USA international has only made eight appearances for the German giants this season and has also lost his place in the national squad.

He has endured a tough few months after picking up a hip injury last year and Johannsson has failed to establish himself since returning.

Reports earlier this week suggested he could move elsewhere this summer and now the 26-year-old has confirmed he is struggling on the sidelines.

"It's not my desire to leave but at the end of the day it's important that I play," he is quoted as saying by ESPN FC. "I love football but I need to play to be happy.

"It's the most difficult period of my career: I can play but I am not allowed to. It's disappointing but not surprising when you've not played a minute in four weeks."
