Werder leading race for Milan defender
Werder Bremen are reportedly leading the race to snap up AC Milan defender Andrea Conti before next month's transfer deadline.
The 25-year-old joined Milan in the summer of 2017 but has struggled to force his way into the starting XI on a consistent basis.
He made just two Serie A appearances during his debut season and was restricted to 12, starting on four occasions, in 2018-19. It appears a move away from the San Siro is on the cards.
Conti did recently announce his intent to stay with Milan long term but a lack of game time has stalled his career and a move away this summer looks inevitable.

Reports recently suggested Italian rivals Parma were keen to sign Conti on a season-long loan, but it’s understood Milan would rather move him on permanently.
Werder are open to doing a deal on that basis and reports in Italy suggest talks are starting to move in the right direction.
Bundesliga clubs have until September 2 to wrap up their summer transfer business, so Werder aren’t pressed for time but may need to act to ensure they don’t miss out on the former Atalanta man.
