Werner expects Leipzig stay

Timo Werner insists he has no intention of leaving RB Leipzig at the end of the season following reported interest from Liverpool.

Werner only moved to Leipzig last summer in an £8million deal from Stuttgart but his performances are understood to have attracted attention from elsewhere.

The 21-year-old is the fourth highest scorer in the Bundesliga with 14 goals and has been called into the Germany squad for the first time ahead of their upcoming matches against England and Azerbaijan.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been tipped to make a move when the transfer window reopens and the striker's agent remained guarded when asked about the interest from Anfield earlier this week, but Werner has now stressed he intends to remain with RB Leipzig for the time being.

In an interview with the World on Sunday, he said: "I want to grow together with the club and develop myself. I'm only 21 and I'm sure I'll be playing for some seasons."
