The Clarets are almost halfway there after a great start to the campaign, having amassed 19 points from their first 11 games of the Premier League season.
Stand-in skipper Ben Mee is taking nothing for granted and says 40 points remains the target.
He wants the side to continue their good run of form when they return to action after the international break.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “That’s definitely a target for us, it’s our main aim really.
“We’d like to hit it as quick as possible but we’re not looking too far ahead, we’re looking to the next games and we’re excited about them.”
Burnley resume their league campaign with a home clash against Swansea on Saturday.
