Duo face fitness fight

Sean Dyche says he will not take any risks on Burnley duo Tom Heaton and Dean Marney ahead of Saturday's clash with Stoke City.

The Clarets head to the Bet365 Stadium looking to end a miserable run of form on their travels but they may have to do it without the influential pair.

Both players are struggling with hamstring injuries, and although Dyche has not ruled them out just yet, he admits they are doubtful for the clash.

"We’ll assess Deano and Tom, they’re touch and go at the moment," the manager told reporters. "Johann [Berg Gudmundsson] is doubtful and is unlikely to make it. I'm pretty sure he won't make it.

"We’ll make a decision between us because, obviously, they’ve got to be right. We’ve just got to take a balanced view as we always do. We’ll look at the availability of the players for the right reasons.

"These lads know their own bodies as well so it's important that we get their feedback on it. We’ll take a view of it over the next day and decide."
