Gray completes Hornets move

Watford have confirmed the signing of striker Andre Gray from Burnley, for a club-record transfer fee believed to be £18million.

Gray has been heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer and reports earlier in the transfer window had suggested a switch to Newcastle United was on the cards.

Talk had cooled about the 26-year-old's future but Premier League rivals Watford, who are under the guidance of new manager Marco Silva, have secured a deal for the former Brentford man.

A fee has been agreed between both clubs and the Englishman, who has been with the Clarets since 2015, is sealed the switch on Wednesday after undergoing a medical.

The striker would also become the seventh new arrival at Vicarage Road this summer, following the signings of Richarlison, Tom Cleverley, Will Hughes, Nathaniel Chalobah, Kiko Femenia and Daniel Bachmann.
