Pope keen to improve

Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope won't rest on his laurels after signing his new deal and is eager to improve at Turf Moor.

The 25-year-old has come on leaps and bounds this season and has filled the void left by the injured first-choice keeper Tom Heaton.

Pope has been rewarded with a new three-year contract extension and the former Charlton man is determined to kick on and compete for the number one spot in the long term.

“I’m delighted to sign a new contract and extend my stay here,” Pope told the Clarets’ website. “I’ve been really happy since I signed last year so I’m really pleased to get it done.

“We are still growing as a club and I’m growing as a player. That’s what I wanted to do when I first signed.”
