We were like under-12s - Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers feels it was like boys against men at times as Celtic lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

The Bhoys welcomed the Parisians to Celtic Park, hopeful of causing an upset but they were put in their place and will have to regroup after PSG's big guns all found the net.

Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani were on target in the first half, with the latter bagging again after the break before Mikael Lustig's own goal rounded off the scoring and completed the misery for the home fans.

Rogers was disappointed but felt they were up against an exceptional group of players.

"You can lose to that scoreline to that team," he said. "You have to give credit to them. This is a team that's a really special team that's been put together.

"They're going to be close to winning it, for sure. For me, the thing I said to the players, is that at this level you have to have the belief."

However, the Northern Irish tactician was critical of the way his charges performed in the first 45 minutes when they were taken apart by the opposition.

"This is a level where you have to look after the ball. You have to make the ball work for you. And in the first half we didn't do that," he added.

"We were playing like under-12s at times. But it's about confidence and belief and we're obviously missing some decisive players who can help us at this level."
