The Spaniard is currently back in his home country on a season-long loan and the 30-year-old has impressed for Betis, who are thought to have put an agreement in place for a possible permanent transfer in the summer.
The former Liverpool youngster is happy and settled at Betis and has made it clear he wants to remain there.
He told Sevilla ABC: "I want to stay here for a long time. My thinking is here and not elsewhere. I do not think I will not be here. I'm focused on Betis.
"I arrived (here) at a good time because I (am experienced), but I still have plenty of years left to play. The motivation for any footballer is to improve every day and that's something that nobody can take away."
