Montero blow for Blues
Birmingham City have been dealt a blow with the news that winger Jefferson Montero will be out for some time with a thigh injury.
The 30-year-old, on a season-long loan from Swansea City, has made two appearances for Blues this term but, according to the West Midlands club, will be out for “several weeks”.
The Ecuador international wide man picked up the problem during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Stoke City – a result that sees City sitting ninth in the Championship standings, with 10 points from six games played.
The much-travelled star was stretchered off during his second outing for the St Andrew’s club and, while no timescale has been put on his return, it seems as though it is a nasty injury and head coach Pep Clotet will not be able to call on his service for a length of time.
The South American has scored 31 goals in 274 career games for nine clubs and has also spent time at West Brom in the English game.
