Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray is disappointed that his transfer targets have become public knowledge and says it shouldn’t be happening.

Rovers’ moves for Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman have been splashed across the print media in the last few days – frustrating Mowbray.

He said: “Apparently it’s happened at this club a lot over the years.

“I would have to say that it’s very frustrating for me, it shouldn’t be happening.

“There are quite a close number of people at the football club who know our targets but it seems to be public news.’

The Lancashire club are closing in on at least one signing before the loan window closes at the end of the month but Mowbray concedes that chances are any new signing won’t be involved in the midweek match against Reading.

However, he hopes to have any new faces available to be involved in the Championship clash with Brentford on Saturday.
