Andy Fisher is hoping to break into the Blackburn first team after signing a new three-year deal with the club.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to stay at Rovers until 2021 having made just three first-team appearances to date.

David Raya has been the first choice for Tony Mowbray so far this season, and although he faces a lot of competition to try and claim the starting shirt, Fisher feels he is still improving.

‘I have to kick on now,’ he told the club website.

‘The goalkeepers at this club – David (Raya), Jayson (Leutwiler), Charlie (Albinson) and Ollie (Byrne) – are all very good ‘keepers. It’s not going to be easy as we all want David’s shirt. There is a lot of competition.

‘The gaffer said that he believes in me and believes I have a chance to play in his team.’
