Megson calls for results

Bolton Wanderers

Gary Megson says Bolton need to start turning decent performances into wins after watching his side make a 'mixed' start to the season.

The Trotters have managed just one win so far – on the opening day against Premier League new-boys Stoke City – and were also humiliatingly dumped out of the Carling Cup by League One side Northampton Town.

But Megson is adamant the performances have deserved better results and now is the time, with a trip to Fulham next up on Saturday, to start picking up wins.

“We’ve made a mixed start if you take the cup out if it, winning one, drawing one and losing one,” Megson said.

“I think we’ve played well enough in all three games to have got more points than we have but we’ve got to get the club to a standard where we are not talking about what we could have done and should have done.

“When we are playing well we have got to start winning these games, whereas at the minute we are making claims that we could have won them,” he added on the club’s website.
