Morelos reports shot down by scout

Bristol City

Bristol City's chef scout in Scotland has rubbished a report which suggested the English club were targeting Gers' Alfredo Morelos.

It looks as though there is no truth in the Scottish Sun’s story on Sunday that the promotion-chasing Robins are interested in the Rangers hitman.

Morelos has hit 12 goals in 25 games for the Gers this season, becoming an immediate fans’ favourite at Ibrox.

But Bristol City’s chief scout in Scotland, Kirk Willoughby, has rubbished the speculation in a now deleted tweet.

The national paper has now deleted the story on their website linking the Colombian striker to the English Championship club.

The Scottish Herald, undeterred, claim Rangers have slapped a £10million asking price on the 21-year-old amid links with Championship clubs.

Morelos was signed from from Finnish side HJK Helsinki last summer, having racked up 46 goals in 62 games for them in a stunning spell.
