Bruce points to Villa progress

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has declared himself fairly satisfied with the progress the club has made during his year in charge.

Bruce has marked his first 12 months at the helm at Villa Park by looking back on his time in charge of the West Midlands giants.

There have been ups and downs after he struggled to push the club towards the play-offs in the second half of last season before a disappointing start this term.

However, things have picked up in the past month and, ahead of Saturday evening’s derby clash with Wolves, Bruce’s side have won four games on the bounce.

Bruce said: “There’s been a lot of chop and change I do think we’re on the right tracks, certainly when we look at where we are in the table it is far better than it was 12 months ago.

“I hope there’s been progress, we’ve got a good balance of experience and some young players that are chomping on the bit.”
