Zohore talks up confidence levels

Cardiff City

Cardiff striker Kenneth Zohore says the squad are full of confidence as they gear up for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Bluebirds emerged as candidates for promotion after enjoying a strong first half of the season, although their form faltered during December to see them slip away from leaders Wolves.

Neil Warnock’s men lost four on the bounce in the Championship during the busy festive period but performances appear to be back on track more recently after claiming back-to-back victories against Sunderland in the league and Mansfield in the FA Cup.

Cardiff can move level on points with second-placed Derby if they pick up all three points at Hillsborough on Saturday and Zohore believes their renewed confidence levels along with new arrivals will help them to see off the Owls.

Zohore told the club’s official site: “We’re going to go up there with confidence as we’re back to winning ways.

“It looks good and we’re back to where we want to be. We wanted to do that over Christmas too, but that’s football.

“We’ve got two new signings [Yanic Wildschut and Marko Grujić], which is great for us and Yanic looked good when he came on last time out.

“On a personal level, I’m getting my sharpness back now and the past two games have been better for me too.”
