Clough's men sit just above the relegation zone on 13 points after winning their last match away at Millwall and have vital games against relegation rivals Bolton and Sunderland on the horizon.
The Brewers boss is taking nothing for granted but sees it as a great opportunity to get back on track.
"I think our aim between now and Christmas is to get back to that point per-game-ratio," Clough revealed. "We're three points off it, and we have an opportunity between now and the Christmas game to say 'at the turn of the year let's try and be at a point per game'."
Burton will also take on a Brentford side, who have recovered from a disappointing start to the season, to surge into the top half of the Championship table.
"Brentford are in great form at the moment," he added. "They're nine unbeaten or something like that. They're one of those teams, and we saw it in the second half of last season, when they click they can beat anybody."
