The striker joined the Cottagers on loan for the rest of the season from Newcastle last month in a bid to secure regular football ahead of this summer’s tournament in Russia.
Mitrovic scored for the second successive game in the 2-0 win over Championship leaders Wolves at the weekend and the 23-year-old believes Fulham are capbale of securing promotion this season.
The striker is eager to be included in Serbia’s World Cup squad but says Fulham are his current priority.
He told Get West London: “My first target is to get promoted with Fulham directly first, if we can, the second thing is the World Cup.
“I will leave World Cup until the end of the season, but at the moment I’m really focused with Fulham, the team and my game and try improve in training and help the team every game I can.
“It’s a good feeling to be here and I am looking forward to every game and I want to play and get on the pitch, this is the reason I’m here.
“I think Fulham needs me and I need Fulham, we both need each other and I’m really happy.”
Fulham are fifth in the Championship table, seven points ahead of Middlesbrough in seventh spot and eight adrift of second placed Cardiff.
