‘Many clubs in England’ want Uruguayan ace

Hull City

Abel Hernandez's agent has confirmed CSKA Moscow have offered a contract to the Hull City star, but 'many clubs in England' want him.

The Uruguayan striker is out of contract at the KCOM Stadium this summer and almost certain to leave the Tigers on a free transfer.

CSKA, the club that used to be managed by ex-Hull City boss Leonid Slutsky, were reported to be among his suitors and Hernandez’s agent has confirmed that, although it sounds like the striker is expecting to receive more attractive offers.

Oscar Bentancourt, speaking to Russian website Championnat, said: ‘CSKA really came out to us with a proposal not so long ago. This is a very good team. The only problem was that their original proposal was too low for money. In addition, Abel is interested in many clubs in England. Let’s see what happens.’

The 27-year-old striker missed over six months of last season after rupturing his Achilles in August, but came back late in the campaign to score some important goals as Hull beat the drop.
