Ibe set for loan move

Bolton Wanderers are closing in on a season-long loan deal for highly-rated Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe.

Ibe made the move to Anfield from Wycombe in 2012 for an undisclosed fee and has impressed during pre-season, while he caught the eye during his loan stint with Birmingham last term.

The 18-year-old featured 11 times for the Blues netting once and is set for a return to the English second-tier to further his development.

Rodgers believes it would hinder his progress to sit on the bench with the Merseyside outfit as the likes of Raheem Sterling, Lazar Markovic, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho sit ahead of him in the pecking order.

Liverpool are reluctant to let someone with so much promise leave on a permanent deal and a loan switch to the Trotters appears to be the preferred option.
