Alioski talks up Whites ability

Leeds United
Leeds' promotion hopes have been dealt a further blow following the news that Ezgjan Alioski has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Leeds United utility star Ezgjan Alioski feels that if his side plays up to their high standards they will overcome promotion hopefuls Derby County on Saturday.

The two rivals are preparing to go head-to-head for the first time since the Rams secured victory at Elland Road in the play-off semi-finals last term.

Top-of-the-table Leeds are preparing to welcome Phillip Cocu’s side back to West Yorkshire this weekend and much has been made about the drama of last season.

Alioski has been keen to play down the events of last term and is confident that if he and his team-mates play to the best of their ability then they will get a positive result.

“We forget the Play-Offs from last season, this is a new game and we know if we play how we usually do we will win,” Alioski told reporters.

“We have been with the coach for longer, the players are mostly the same, we have had longer together and we are growing up more and we are now like a family, we fight on the pitch together and we help each other.

“It’s difficult to score against defensive teams, but when we create many chances and we score the first goal, it’s dangerous for the opposition.”
