Ward, who has not played for the Canaries in the Premier League having suffered a serious knee injury during pre-season, has progressed well in recent weeks and could be involved at some point at the Liberty Stadium.
His return is a timely boost for boss Paul Lambert after central defender, Ayala, was ruled out for a number of weeks with a hamstring injury, while Zak Whitbread is also a doubt due to a similar problem he suffered during last weekend’s 2-0 win against Bolton at Carrow Road.
Left-back Marc Tierney continues to miss out having suffered a reaction to his recent groin injury, while the game will come too soon for striker James Vaughan who continues his comeback from a long-term knee problem.
The Canaries defeated the Swans 3-1 at home earlier in the season and will look for the three points in South Wales to cement their position in the top half of the Premier League table.
Bayern Munich have entered the race to Emre Can, who continues to talk up a move away from Liverpool this summer.
