Norwich boss calls for response

Norwich boss Chris Hughton is keen for his side to respond following their Capital One Cup elimination on Tuesday.

The Canaries suffered a 4-1 quarter-final defeat at home to Aston Villa on Tuesday as their 10-game unbeaten run came to an end, but Hughton insists they cannot let their heads drop as a result of the loss.

Norwich still have a nine-match unbeaten record in the Premier League and Hughton is eager to extend that streak when they take on Wigan at Carrow Road this weekend.

“It’s a down changing room at the moment but we must not take away from what they’ve achieved over the last couple of months,” Hughton told the BBC.

“It’s my responsibility to make sure we get them back on track.”

He added: “We need to make sure we are back to where we’ve been, back to basics, for what is a big game against Wigan on Saturday.

“We need to make sure we get rest and recovery over the next few days and come out fighting against a good Wigan side.”
