Loan keeper back at Reading

Yeovil have announced that a proposed takeover by American businessman Robert Couhig is off.

Goalkeeper Liam Driscoll's loan spell at Yeovil Town has been cut short and he has now returned to parent club Reading after picking up an injury.

Driscoll’s future is uncertain once again after National League side Yeovil sent him back to the Royals to undergo treatment.

The nature of the injury has not been specified by the Glovers but they have opted to cancel the loan agreement, which would have seen the Australian staying at Huish Park until January.

A Yeovil statement read: “The 20-year-old will return to the Madejski Stadium to receive treatment for a minor injury but will not return to Somerset. All at Yeovil Town wish Liam all the best for the future.”

Driscoll has yet to play a senior game for Reading but has impressed in both the Under-18 and Under-23 teams in recent years, and it was hoped he would head to the National League and get some regular first-team action.

However, he will now quickly hope to recover from injury before assessing his situation again, with another loan a possibility to a lower-league club later this month.
