Moore rips into Reading team after Fulham hammering
Liam Moore has slammed the performance of his Reading side after they were thumped 4-1 at home to Fulham in the Championship on Tuesday evening.
Midfielder Tom Cairney and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic both scored a brace for the Cottagers in the clash at the Madejski Stadium before Yakou Meite grabbed a late consolation for the hosts, who are just one place and three points above the relegation zone.
Former England Under-21 international John Swift was also shown a red card for the Royals just 20 minutes into the match and he will be missing for the trip to Bristol City on Saturday.
It was a disappointing performance from reading and captain Moore, who has been at the club since August 2016, says the entire squad need to have a long, hard look at themselves after that defeat.
He told the club’s official website: “You can’t look anywhere but in the mirror, that’s the most important thing. That’s what I’ve spoken about in the dressing room, everyone needs to look in the mirror.”
Reading boss Jose Gomes did recently say the club would be around the top end of the table come May but a big improvement is required if they are going to get out of a relegation fight at the moment.
The Royals are on a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions while they have failed to win away from home in their last three trips, losing to Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers before drawing with Swansea City.
