Roberts set to miss out

Reading could be without influential striker Jason Roberts for their npower Championship clash with Blackpool.

The former Blackburn forward suffered a hamstring injury during the 3-1 defeat at Peterborough on Tuesday, but the injury is not as bad as the Royals first feared and Roberts will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the damage ahead of the visit of the Tangerines.

Manager Brian McDermott moved quickly to add cover to his attacking ranks following Roberts’ knock with the acquisition of England youth international Benik Afobe on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season, and the youngster could make his debut.

Hayden Mullins is expected to continue on the right of defence in the absence of ankle injury victim Matt Connolly, while Joseph Mills continues to miss out.
