Robins wait on injured star

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson is sweating on the fitness of Jamie Paterson ahead of the long trip north to face Sheffield United.

Paterson scored the winner in last week’s win against Middlesbrough but has not fully recovered after picking up a recent hamstring problem.

Famara Diedhiou (knee) has returned from France following a period of rehabilitation, although the Senegal striker will not be involved yet.

Callum O’Dowda (ankle), Eros Pisano (hamstring), Jens Hegeler (knee) and Gary O’Neil (knee) also remain out, while Milan Djuric is set to undergo groin surgery.

Midfielder Korey Smith has said he’s relishing the trip to South Yorkshire, he told the club’s website: “It should be a great game! Sheffield United have been absolutely brilliant this year and fair play to them, they have really continued their form from last season. They have great players who work hard, as we do, so it should be an entertaining game.”
