Stewart targets comeback in Canaries clash

Hull City midfielder Kevin Stewart is targeting his side's Championship clash with Norwich City his weekend to make his comeback.

The former Liverpool man has been out with ankle ligament damage for the past two months but, having emerged unscathed from a reserve run-out on Monday night, he is ready to declare himself fit for the Tigers’ upcoming trip to Carrow Road.

Stewart admitted it has been a frustrating period following his £4m move from Anfield this summer.

“Coming to a new club you want to start straight away and do well to prove yourself,” he told the Hull Daily Mail. “I’d played at the start of pre-season and got some good rhythm so coming out when I did it was frustrating.

“I’ve just told myself it’s a long season and I haven’t missed too much of it. Once I’m injured and I know what I’ve got to do, I’m pretty good at getting my head down and working in the gym.

“Now I’m ready to get in the team and start showing what I can do. I’ll be fine for Norwich. Whether I’m involved or not is not up to me so I’ll just do what I can to show I’m ready to play.”
