Van der Hoorn warns Swansea against complacency
Swansea City defender Mike van der Hoorn has reminded his team they need to be at their best as they prepare to return from the international break.
The Swans are currently top of the Championship table after picking up 16 points from their first six matches.
Steve Cooper’s men are unbeaten during the first few weeks of the season, and the Welsh outfit look like genuine promotion candidates in these early stages of the season.
Nottingham Forest are next up at the Liberty Stadium, and van der Hoorn says his side cannot afford to switch off.
“I think we’ve shown that we can compete with the best teams in the league,” he told the club’s official website.
“We will face tough opponents in every game we play, so we need to play like this again and, if not, even better.
“That’s the way it is in the Championship, and there is no let-up, you have to keep preparing and keep performing to a very high level.
“We know this is a difficult division with some very good teams, we have shown we are a good team ourselves, but you have to keep on showing that and keep on proving that because it is still very early in the season.”
