Gary Cahill is set to make his debut from the bench but Branislav Ivanovic and Michael Essien are both competing to start at Norwich.
Cahill is desperate to be involved from the start after completing his £7m move from Bolton to Stamford Bridge at the start of the week but is likely to be named on Chelsea's substitutes bench for the clash at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Ivanovic has missed the last month after damaging a hamstring at Tottenham the week before Christmas but is fit again and is favourite to replace Jose Bosingwa at right back, while Essien could be a surprise inclusion in the line-up after making his comeback after six months out against Sunderland last week.
Fernando Torres will start up front again with Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou both on international duty at the African Cup of Nations in an attack that could also feature Daniel Sturridge, but midfielder Jon-Obi Mikel remains sidelined by hamstring trouble.
