Townsend content to changes roles
Conor Townsend is happy to play out of position if it will mean he gets a starting role for Chesterfield.
The defender made his first appearance for the Spireites as an 85th minute substitute during the 1-1 draw with Burton following his loan move from Hull in November.
The form of Nathan Smith at left-back has kept Townsend watching on from the sidelines, and he admits a move to midfield could be his best chance of making an impact.
He told Chesterfield's official website: "Smudger (Smith) is on fire, it wouldn't be fair to drop him when he has been playing well.
"So maybe my chance will come on the left of midfield. I'm not bothered where I play as long as i'm getting game time, I just want to play as many games as I can."
But despite failing to make much of an impression so far, the 19-year-old says he has enjoyed his time at the club.
"It's been a good experience for me," he added.
"I'm enjoying training, the lads are top. For me, the only thing that has been missing is playing but i'm sure that will come.
"It's up to the gaffer but I want to prove to him and the fans what I can do and just try and help the team get up the league."
