Sabres suffer Sharks shock
Defending champions Sussex Sharks beat Somerset Sabres by 52 runs in the Twenty20 Championship.
Sussex scored 155-7 with England big hitter Luke Wright scoring 39 runs off 19 deliveries and broke his bat clean in two whilst smashing one of his four sixes.
The Sabres only managed 103 runs with the last six wickets falling for just 13 runs.
Somerset captain Marcus Trescothick has admitted he was disappointed by the poor start to the competition but has stated there is a long way to go.
He said: "It's not quite gone our way and they outperformed us. That's the way it goes at times.
"We must not get too down about this disappointing performance and move on pretty quick. You have to in this sort of game.
"There are 16 games in the competition and the top four go through. There are going to be great days and bad days. You have to roll with the punches and move on to the next game and hopefully come back better."
