Shoaib cleared for Surrey
Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar could play for Surrey against Hampshire on Tuesday after being cleared to play in England.
The 33-year-old was sent back to Pakistan from Britain last week as he did not have the correct visa and it was thought that he might not return.
However, the controversial paceman has now obtained the correct documents and has been cleared to make Surrey his fourth county after spells at Somerset, Worcestershire and Durham.
The right-armer is looking to find his way back into the international game after injuries and suspensions meant that he has missed much of the last two years of cricket and PCB chief operating officer Shaqfqat Naghmi is happy to see the pace ace ply his trade in England.
"He has been out of competitive cricket for quite some time and needs to regain his match fitness," he said. "We believe a short county stint might help him in doing that."
