The Eagles are in desperate need of a boost and all three points when they take on Southampton this weekend, but it looks as though they will have to do it without the help of Mandanda.
Mandanda picked up the injury while training with France during the last international break and has been forced to sit out Palace's last two games.
Wayne Hennessey played instead against Manchester City and Swansea City, and by the way assistant boss Keith Millen is talking, that looks set to be the case again.
"We are not sure with Steve and his knee yet," told the Advertiser ahead of the game. "I don't know exactly what he's done, medically. But he's not full training, it's niggling still."
After conceding five against the Swans at the weekend, under-fire Alan Pardew would have been hoping to have Mandanda back, but that now looks unlikely.
