Palace poised for star fitness lift

Wilfried Zaha is targeting a return from a two-month knee injury lay-off to line up for Crystal Palace's visit of Chelsea on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international winger has been a big miss for the Eagles after suffering the injury during the opening day 3-0 defeat against Huddersfield at Selhurst Park.

Palace have lost all six games since Zaha was ruled out and have yet to score a Premier League goal, while Roy Hodgson has replaced Frank de Boer in the managerial hotseat during his absence.

As we reported a week ago, Zaha was back in training with Palace during the international break and it now looks highly likely that he will make himself available to Hodgson ahead of the reigning Premier League champions' arrival at Selhurst Park this weekend.

It is possible that Zaha might feature from the bench against Chelsea with Hodgson having one eye on a more winnable fixture at Newcastle the following week.
