West Brom linked with Ward swoop

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward looks set to leave the club this summer, with West Brom said to be keen to snap him up.

The 27-year-old has been with Palace for five seasons and made 186 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals along the way, but it seems as though his days in South London may be numbered.

The Sun has reported that the former Portsmouth stopper has rejected the offer of a new four-year deal with the club as Frank de Boer's 3-4-3 formation has left him frozen out of the first-team picture.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis knows the player well having worked with him when in charge of Palace and the link is obvious, and he could use the versatile defender as a full-back or in the centre of his rearguard.

The Hampshire-born player's current deal expires in 12 months and so Palace will be keen to offload him now to avoid him leaving for free next summer.
