Ajax keen on Tonali deal
Ajax are reportedly interested in signing Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali during the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old has spent all of his fledgling career at I Biancazzurri so far, playing 55 times since making his debut in 2017.
He has scored five goals for the club and was a key part of their side that got promoted back to Serie A last season.
Tonali has played in all of Brescia’s top-flight games so far this season and has started to draw interest from elsewhere, with Ajax looking ready to pounce.
The report states that scouts were sent to watch him in action when they played Bologna on Sunday afternoon, and there is also competition for his signature.
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are understood to be interested in a deal for the midfielder, who was part of the Italy squad which reached the final of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
However, Ajax are favourites for his signature due to their ability to nurture younger players.
They are looking to reinforce their midfield following this summer’s departure of Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona.
The young Dutchman penned a contract in January and left for around 75million euros in the summer, after helping the Amsterdam giants to win a domestic double as well as reach the Champions League semi-finals.
