De Parel van het Zuiden won promotion to the top flight courtesy of the play-offs at the end of last season, however, they have found life difficult in the Eredivisie.
NAC currently sit 16th, having won just twice from 11 outings, and it looks likely to be a long season as they look to retain their spot.
Vloet, who joined from PSV over the summer has netted three times in nine league outings, insists the main goal has always been to reach the magical 40-point mark and says that remains the case, despite their slow start.
"As a squad we agreed that we want to reach 40 points and that is our objective this season," Vloet told Football-Oranje.com.
"This is what we have set our sights on from day one of pre-season and we are willing to fight for it."
