Streppel says Heerenveen can achieve big things

Heerenveen can go on to have a great season according to boss Jurgen Streppel as they sit third in the league.

A 2-1 victory away at Excelsior Rotterdam has elevated them to their highest league position since the 1997/98 season, and they are currently unbeaten after five league games.

Results have included a very impressive 2-0 win at home to PSV Eindhoven, which saw goals from former Charlton Athletic striker Reza Ghoochannejhad and Arber Zeneli.

Zeneli scored once again on Saturday and Streppel is delighted with his team’s start to the campaign.

He said: “We are doing well and to build a team you need time and I can only compliment my squad that with a completely new defence we can achieve these kinds of results.

“We believe we can achieve something here at Heerenveen. We know that we can play good football and we must show that every week.”

“Aber Zeneli is a great player who has qualities where even the neutral supporter even enjoys his skills. He is very eager to be decisive in games.”
