Toon target Bony

Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony could be in line for a move to Premier League side Newcastle for a fee of £12 million.

The Ivorian joined the Dutch club in 2011 from Sparta Prague and has netted 30 times in 51 games, leading to a number of top clubs keeping tabs on his progress.

The north east giants are looking to get the deal moving in order to complete a transfer by the deadline on Thursday, but they could face a few obstacles in their bid to secure his services.

Liverpool and Chelsea are thought to be monitoring the 24 year-old but will not be prepared to match the Magpies offer.

Fred Rutten will be reluctant to let his talisman to leave but if the offer is right – although he leads the scoring charts in the division with 16 goals in 18 matches – then a deal will be struck.
