Van Bronckhorst pleased with training camp experience

Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst was pleased with his side's work ethic during their training camp during the winter break.

Feyenoord were last in action on Christmas Eve, when they were too strong for Roda JC and recorded a 5-1 win.

Van Bronckhorst’s men started a four-day training camp last week and played two friendlies against VV Noordwijk and FC Luzern.

The Dutch giants won both matches and the former Rangers boss was pleased with his team’s efforts during the camp.

He told the club’s official website: “I gave all my boys a game. Including the boys who have been out of the team for a while and needed it played this morning. In that respect I am very satisfied, also with the fact that we return home on Sunday with a fit group.

“We have been able to train well. We had an excellent pitch, a good hotel and good food. From a physical point of view, we have laid the foundations for the second half of the season, while we have become closer as a group. We now have another week to prepare well for the match against Ajax.”
