Barkley feeling good under Koeman

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley insists his goal celebration against Bournemouth is a sign he is really enjoying himself.

The England international was put under immense pressure from Ronald Koeman when the Dutchman took charge at Goodison Park last summer.

He outlined his plans for the academy graduate and sceptics expected him to struggle after a slow start.

However, in a new wider role, Barkley has created more chances than any other English player in the Premier League this season.

The 23-year-old was also criticised for celebrating before he scored against the Cherries this month but he insists it's a sign of positivity.

Barkley told the club's official website: "That just showed how much I’m enjoying it at the minute. And that’s the same with all of the lads as well.

"The goal was in the last minute - and it’s something you do as a kid. I was through and knew I wasn’t missing, so I celebrated before I scored. It was just on the spur of the moment, I thought about doing it straight away.

"It’s what every footballer wants to do - enjoy it [playing]. Sometimes you go through the hard spells but it’s worth it in the end because you get the good days ahead."
