Boss eyes striker swoop

Everton are reported to be lining up a swoop for Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic ahead of the transfer deadline.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already drafted in Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez this summer, but he wants even more firepower following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, and Kalinic is a target.

Fiorentina are keen to keep hold of the 29-year-old, who has a prolific goalscoring record, but reports in Italy claim an offer in the region of £22million may be too good for them to turn down.

Kalinic scored 20 goals in all competitions last season and Koeman believes the striker would have no problem making the switch from Serie A to the Premier League.

Koeman is also still hoping to push through a move for Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson so it looks sure to be a busy last two weeks of the transfer window for the Everton chief.
